Last week, Jesse Baird’s (pictured with Luke Davies) phone records were shown to the court.

The records show the cell towers Baird’s phone connected to in the hours before and after he was allegedly killed by Beau Lamarre-Condon on February 19, 2024.

Police technical expert Jonas O’Brien told the court Baird’s phone connected to different towers as he slept on the night of February 18.

The following morning, around the time he died, Baird received texts and calls from a friend, which went unanswered.

Mr O’Brien said Baird’s phone appeared to have been turned off after that.

Texts were sent to the phone, but they weren’t received because the phone was off. One text was from the insurance company, Medibank.

He told the court the phone appeared to have been turned on and connected to a wifi network at about 4.45pm that day because the pending texts were delivered.

Texts from Auto General and Rafflesaint were received until about 6pm, when the phone was turned off again.

Other texts from Blue Glue, Rafflesaint and Vodafone were not received due to the phone being off.

On February 20, the phone was switched back on and hit a tower in the Paddington area, where Baird lived, but was then turned off again until about 11pm that night.

Baird’s phone appeared to turn off permanently on February 21.

Luke Davies sent his final text message to Aussie Enterprise and Industry at about 9.12am on the day he died.

Davies’ phone records were shown to the court on Friday afternoon.

About 50 minutes later, at 9.51am, he phoned NSW Police.

At that time, Beau Lamarre-Condon had allegedly broken into Baird’s home in Paddington – where Davies was staying – and opened fire.

NSW Police tried to call him back, but the calls went to voicemail.

Davies received calls later that afternoon, including from someone in Bondi, but the phone appeared to have been turned off.

On February 20, Davies’ mother Sandra tried to call him a number of times.

She never got through because the phone was off.

The court also heard from a former cop friend of Lamarre-Condon who said she was terrified he might ‘kill me too’ after he showed up at her house to scrub blood from a van.

The friend, known as Fiona Rosso for court reporting purposes, told the NSW Supreme Court last week that police officer Lamarre-Condon appeared at her house on February 22, 2024 – three days after he allegedly killed two people.

She alleged that he said: ‘I’ve done something bad, I don’t want to tell you, I don’t want to incriminate you.’

Lamarre-Condon asked her to search Jesse Baird’s name online.

She saw a number of articles about the disappearance of Baird, a television presenter, and his new Qantas flight attendant partner, Luke Davies.

Ms Rosso told the court that she followed Lamarre-Condon outside to a white van parked near her house. She said he started scrubbing blood from the interior.

She started looking up Baird’s name again and saw that a police officer was a suspect.

‘When reading the articles, I saw [the number for] Crime Stoppers and I just wanted to scream, “He’s here! He’s here!”‘ she told the court.

Ms Rosso sobbed as she told the court that she didn’t know if she was ‘part of the plan where he could now kill me too’.

‘I didn’t want to provoke Beau to hurt me.’

Justice Natalie Adams later told the jury that Ms Rosso feared for her life, but there was no evidence that Lamarre-Condon was ever going to harm her.
