    At the one-week observance of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, notable personalities gathered at the Black Star Square on August 30, 2025, to mourn, pay tribute, and support the bereaved family.

    The ceremony drew a large crowd, featuring heartfelt tributes and generous donations to assist with funeral and burial arrangements for the music legend.

    Among those present were political leaders, musicians, and other public figures. Former President Nana Akufo-Addo, former Vice President Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, and former Minister of Energy Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh attended.

    Representatives of Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change were also present, alongside New Patriotic Party presidential hopeful and businessman Kennedy Agyapong and Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu.

    The entertainment industry was also represented by musicians such as Amakye Dede, Kojo Antwi, Pat Thomas, Oheneba Kissi, Sarkodie, Kwabena Kwabena, Kofi Nti, Kay Blez, Ras Levi, K. Owusu, comic actor Salinko, and actress Emelia Brobbey.

    The Minority Caucus of Parliament, led by Alexander Afenyo-Markin, also joined the gathering to show their support.

    Former President Akufo-Addo contributed GH¢100,000, Dr Bawumia donated GH¢50,000, and the Ghana Police Service gave GH¢30,000.

    Kennedy Agyapong contributed GH¢10,000, while Dr Opoku Prempeh and Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change each gave GH¢5,000.

    The official program began at around 10:15 AM with a prayer led by Prophet Amoako Atta of Parliament Chapel, asking for God’s guidance over the day’s activities.

    The ceremony then unfolded with a solemn yet celebratory tone.

    Daddy Lumba, whose real name was Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra.
