Ghanaian actress and media personality Nana Ama McBrown has opened up about why she has been off the screens for a while.

In a video shared on social media, the actress explained her reason for not hosting her popular program anymore is due to an unbearable pain from a surgery she recently underwent.

McBrown disclosed that she was feeling a very unbearable discomfort in her arm, noting that people would not understand her pain if they had not gone through such a surgery before.

“I have not been well, and the reason is that I had to undergo surgery on my arm again. You all saw that it got to a point where I was struggling a lot. Before I could finish shooting McBrown’s kitchen, I had taken a lot of painkillers.

“Until you go through a surgery like mine, you can’t understand my feelings and the pain I have been through. This time around, I have been advised by my doctors and loved ones to rest so that the wounds heal,” she said.

Nana Ama McBrown also pleaded with fans to remember her in prayers as she undergoes her healing process.

“I am home and going through the process of healing…What I am going to say is that I need your prayers, so my arm won’t break again because I am tired,” she added.

    Background

On January 30, 2013, Nana Ama McBrown was reportedly involved in a car accident on the George Walker Bush Highway around Lapaz at about 2 AM.

Maxwell Mensah, who was then her boyfriend, was said to have also been badly affected as the two were rushed to the 37 Military Hospital.

Maxwell, who narrated the incident after recovering from unconsciousness at that time, said a vehicle crossed their path as they were returning from a movie shoot.
