President John Dramani Mahama President John Dramani Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has admonished newly sworn-in ministers that the many congratulatory messages and celebrations from their families and friends should give way for work.

At the swearing in of the new batch of ministers, the President emphasized that the call to serve Ghana is a great honor, but it comes with enormous challenges, especially as the country grapples with economic difficulties and sectoral problems.

President Mahama stressed that the nation has justifiably demanded swift and decisive action after enduring a period of particularly poor governance over the last eight years.

“There is no greater honor than to be called to serve your country but with that honor comes great responsibility, especially in circumstances such as ours where our nation is in die strait with a run-down economy and all manner of sectorial problems”.

“I’m sure you minister have received tons of congratulations and celebrations from your well-wishers and family for your nomination but must quickly give way to immediate commencement of work to address the need of our people who have justifiably demanded quick action after enduring particularly bad governance over the last eight years. All of you have enormous challenges to surmount in your respective sectors”.
