Rapper King Paluta has extended congratulations to King Promise, who was crowned Artiste of the Year at the 2025 TGMAs.
King Promise, on May 10, 2025, not only secured the Artiste of the Year title but also took home awards for Best Afropop Song of the Year and Best Afrobeat/Afropop Artiste of the Year.
In a post shared on X on May 11, 2025, King Paluta, who lost the grande title to King Promise in a keenly contested race, graciously acknowledged his fellow nominee’s achievement, saying, “Congratulations to Big Greg @IamKingPromise! Apicki!”
The post has sparked mixed reactions online.
While praising King Paluta for his sportsmanship and impressive performance over the past year, netizens have questioned why he wasn’t awarded Artiste of the Year instead.
Others, alleged it may have been rigged in favour of King Promise.
One would recall that shortly after King Promise was crowned Artiste of the Year, King Paluta shared a light-hearted post on social media, hinting at the buzz his loss might generate.
“Herh. I’ll trend this evening,” he wrote.
Despite the loss, fans and supporters have commended King Paluta for his impact in the year under review, encouraging him to keep pushing and aim for next year’s awards.
