A simple statement from popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker Layi Wasabi has drawn hilarious reactions from netizens, who had a lot to say on the issue he raised in his recent post on X (Twitter).
Speaking on the different types of pain one can experience, Layi argues that while heartbreak is truly painful, helping someone who does not appreciate your kind gesture is just as bad, if not worse.
He wrote;
“I know say heartbreak dey pain o but you don help an ingrate before??”
Reacting to his post an X user shared her experience with such an individual. She mentioned had helped the person pay their rent but only received a simple thanks.
“Paid someone’s rent on here and she went “thanks”” she wrote.
Another user replying to her post, expressed confusion, asking what more she wanted, he replied “As opposed to?“.
This simple interaction has generated hilarious comments from netizens who expressed that if they ever helped anyone, they would like to be properly appreciated, else there would be consequences.
Some shared their experience with ungrateful individuals and how painful it was dealing with such people, showing that the majority expect sincere gratitude when they render help.
