Abdul Razak has launched a scathing attack on fellow Ghanaian football legend Mohammed Polo after the latter cast doubt on his 1978 African Footballer of the Year award.

In a fiery interview with Kessben TV, Razak laughed off Polo’s suggestion that he didn’t deserve the continental honor, bluntly telling his former teammate to come and retrieve the trophy himself if he believes it’s rightfully his.

According to Razak, Polo is not among the greatest Ghanaian players and should leave that judgment to the public. He also dared Polo to come for the award if he truly believes he deserved it.

“Polo talks as if he’s the best, but in the history of Ghanaian football, he does not come close to the GOAT level. He must understand that greatness is not self-proclaimed; it is earned, and the people will decide. The award is in the house, he should come for it or report it to CAF,” Razak stated.

This comes after Polo, in a separate interview, hinted that Razak didn’t deserve the African Footballer of the Year award in 1978.

Nonetheless, Razak maintains that while his decisive role in Ghana’s victorious 1978 Africa Cup of Nations campaign was crucial in earning him the prestigious award, he does not claim to be the greatest footballer in Ghana’s history.

“I don’t blow my own horn, I leave that to the public and the journalists to judge. The records are there. Let people decide who was the best,” he added.
