Nene Narteh Wayo Hemitatse II, the Senior Divisional Mankralo of the Shai State, has called on the privileged members of the Shai State to reconnect with their roots and contribute to the development of their communities.

This appeal was made during a durbar organized by the Paramount Chief of Se, Nene Odeopeor Martey Kodjoe Ahwah IV, who also serves as the President of the Se Traditional Council. The event was part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Kodiabe Ngmayem Festival, held at Kodiabe Mantse Park.

Nene Narteh Wayo II, the Senior Mankralo of the Se Traditional Area, highlighted the significant contributions of Manya Jorpanya Mantse, Dr. Tei Djahene Korabo IV, to national development, particularly in the corporate and economic sectors, and other Shai communities.

He emphasized the role of Dr. Tei Djahene Korabo as a center of knowledge, evidenced by the numerous institutions in Jorpanya and Shai. Nene Narteh Wayo urged influential individuals from the Se State to support the region’s development agenda and encouraged the Shai divisional chiefs to maintain unity in their efforts.

The Chairman of the occasion, Nene Tetteh Wakah III of the Prampram Traditional Area, acknowledged existing disputes within the Se division and advised the community to follow traditional and customary procedures to resolve chieftaincy issues.

He reminded the audience that the Se Traditional Area, second in command within the Ga-Dangbe State’s hierarchy, manages the administration of the state in the absence of the Ga-Dangbe leaders. Nene Tetteh Wakah III also noted that the Shai division is one of the largest in the Ga-Dangbe region, encompassing over 100 towns and villages, including Kodiabe, Dodowa, Agormeda, Manya Jorpanya, Ayikuma, and other communities.
