Legendary Nigerian footballer John Mikel Obi has praised Chelsea forward Cole Palmer for his incredible performance with the English Premier League side Chelsea.

According to Obi, Palmer has been one of the best players Chelsea has ever had, considering the tremendous statistics he has accumulated over the past two seasons.

The former Chelsea midfielder indicated that if Palmer continues his outstanding performance, he is likely to break all records for the Blues and cement his legacy as a legend.

Speaking on StadiumAstro TV, Obi hailed the English player for his footballing prowess and urged him to continue excelling.

“We all love Cole Palmer; he is a fantastic player. I think he’s still the top goal scorer for the club. I believe he will continue to excel if he remains with the club for a long time, breaking all sorts of records along the way.

“He’s a fantastic player, and all credit to him. I love him; he’s a fantastic player. You can’t watch him and have anything negative to say about him,” he commented.

Palmer has been Chelsea’s standout player in recent times, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists in 33 matches during the 2023/2024 season.

The player has received several awards, including the Professional Footballers Young Player of the Season and making it to the 2024 Ballon D’or top 30 shortlist.

In the 2024/25 season, Palmer has scored 11 goals and provided 6 assists in eleven matches, making him the team’s best player so far.
