Cloudflare outage causes stocks to tumble as ChatGPT, Claude and X take major hits

The internet is facing a global Cloudflare outage Tuesday morning, with major sites  including ChatGPT, ClaudeAI and X struggling to load after a network issue.

Cloudflare confirmed the disruption and is said to be investigating the issue.

In a statement, the company said : ‘We saw a spike in unusual traffic to one of Cloudflare’s services beginning at 11:20 UTC. That caused some traffic passing through Cloudflare’s network to experience errors.’

‘We do not yet know the cause of the spike in unusual traffic. We are all hands on deck to make sure all traffic is served without errors.’

Frustrated users flooded X with complaints, including one who pleaded: ‘Could you unblock me from Discord please?’
