Footage showed protesters standing in the middle of the road holding signs as police directed traffic.

Some activists were holding Extinction Rebellion signs.

‘Northbound traffic on Punt Road, South Yarra is now sharing the southbound lanes over the Yarra River to pass a protest,’ a VicTraffic alert states.
