Asante Kotoko caretaker coach Mohammed Hamza Obeng says improving defensive organization remains a key focus for him ahead of their Ghana Premier League match-day 32 clash against Eleven Wonders.

The Porcupine Warriors head into the game on the back of a difficult run of form, having suffered three consecutive defeats, including a 2-0 loss away to Dreams FC in their last outing. Despite the recent setbacks, Kotoko still occupy sixth position on the league table with 46 points.

Speaking ahead of the game, the enterprising tactician admitted the team’s biggest issue has been their organization whenever they lose possession and stressed the need for quicker reactions from his players.

“Well, it depends mostly on our organization without ball. That is where we have the problem when we are out of possession. We need to organize ourselves well, we need to concentrate in the angle where the ball is,” he told AKSC Media.

The coach further explained that the technical team has spent the week working on improving the players’ reaction speed both with and without the ball as they seek a return to winning ways.

“Also, the nearest player who need to keep give the first reaction goes in very late. And what we are working on this week is that we need to, I mean, in every minute of action, we need to react quick so that with ball, we’ll know what to do. Without ball, we will know what to do as well,” he added.

Kotoko will host Eleven Wonders on Sunday, May 10, at the Baba Yara Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 15:00GMT (3:00pm).
