NPP delegates in the Oti Region have been urged to select a competent and marketable leader to lead the party into the 2028 elections.

Welcoming Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to the Oti Region on Friday, November 7, the NPP Regional Chairman, Evans Yaw Dapaah, slammed the flagbearer hopefuls going around bragging about their wealth and warned against such practices.

According to him, the party’s January 31 presidential primaries next year should not be about who is offering more money.

“Some of the aspirants have been going around bragging that they have money. This contest is not about how wealthy someone is, so please don’t fall for their deception,” he cautioned.

He urged the party to choose competence over “braggarts.”

“The NDC believed in Mahama and backed him without considering money. I remember during their congress in 2022, Mahama offered the delegates GH₵40 for transport, but they voted massively for him.”

“The person we know and believe can bring power to the NPP in 2028 is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. He is the most marketable person who can bring us victory, so let us all rally behind him and vote massively for him, just as the NDC did for Mahama without being influenced by money.”

Dr Bawumia began his campaign tour of the Oti Region on Friday.
