Cypriot team Pafos FC confirmed via social media the arrival of former Chelsea centre-back David Luiz, who will try his luck at the eighth team of his professional career at the age of 38.

A legend of the game, David Luiz, returns to Europe after signing for the eighth club of his professional football career. The Brazilian center back, after ending his contract with Brazilian club Fortaleza, has decided to try his luck in the Cypriot league.

Pafos FC confirmed via social media that the 38-year-old defender has reached an agreement with the club to sign a two-year contract, meaning the Chelsea legend will play in Europe until at least the age of 41 if everything goes according to plan.

“Pafos FC is proud to announce the signing of Brazilian football icon David Luiz, who joins the club on a contract until 2027. This landmark transfer marks the most historic moment in Cypriot football the arrival of a global superstar whose name has echoed in the world’s greatest stadiums,” reads the statement.

In this way, David Luiz will embark on his ninth adventure in a successful career that has seen him play for major teams such as Vitoria Guimaraes, Benfica, Chelsea, PSG, Arsenal, Flamengo, and Fortaleza.-besoccer
