The Black Stars recorded a disappointing 1-1 draw against Chad on September 4, 2025, in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The draw puts Ghana’s qualification in danger as other competing nations have won their games to close the gap on the table.

Some players lived up to expectations with their performances, while most of them were below par, leading to the disappointing score line.

See the match ratings of the players below:

Benjamin Asare: Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare earned a 7/10 rating as he kept the post intact for most aspects of the game. A deflection led to the only goal he conceded.

Caleb Yirenkyi: The right-back had an average performance, often caught off guard during the game despite his offensive impact. He recorded 5/10 rating.

Jonas Adjetey: The center-back had a brilliant performance in the first half but was unable to maintain the same momentum in the second half when Chad attacked Ghana. He received a 5/10 rating.

Jerome Opoku: The Başakşehir FC defender’s partnership with Jonas was good, but a lack of organization and structure made them lose their concentration in the second half, earning him a 5/10 rating.

Gideon Mensah: The experienced left-back was caught off guard numerous times, giving away possession cheaply and nearly gifting a goal. He received a 4/10 rating.

Salis Samed: The midfielder failed to control the tempo of the game, allowing Chad to operate freely and won most of the 50/50 balls. He also received a 4/10 rating.

Elisha Owusu: The FC Auxerre player failed to provide the expected defensive cover and lacked major impact, hence a 5/10 rating.

Otto Addo admits Black Stars‘ performance against Chad fell short

Kudus Mohammed: The Tottenham Hotspur attacker assisted Jordan Ayew for the first goal but failed to convert chances that could have doubled the lead, earning a 6/10 rating.

Inaki Williams: The Athletic Bilbao forward’s struggles with the Black Stars continued as he wasn’t sharp and clinical in the game, receiving a 4/10 rating.

Antoine Semenyo: The striker couldn’t replicate his club performance, missing two clear-cut chances that led to the draw. He received a 4/10 rating.

Jordan Ayew: Jordan Ayew once again showed leadership, scoring the only goal for Ghana and being visible in attack. He had the highest rating, with 7/10.

The substitutes brought energy into the game: Kamaldeen Sulemana received a 4/10 rating, while Christopher Baah-Bonsu recorded 3/10 and Ibrahim Sulemana 3/10.
