Achimota based golfer, Charity Vogel has made a golfing statement at the nation’s premier golf hub after emerging top female winner of the 2025 edition of the All-Star Insurance Brokers Pink Cup Golf Tournament which was played in the nation’s capital.

Despite a late huge challenge from some fine amateur golfers on the greens, Vogel maintained her composure and grabbed the main women’s trophy of the 2025 All Stars Insurance Brokers Pink Cup in the presence of her husband, himself a golfer.

Another well-known golfer at Achimota, Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah with a handicap of 14 bagged in 34 points for the second ahead of Mary Prempeh.

The golf competition drew over 100 golfers from clubs across Ghana and beyond, who all played in support of breast cancer awareness, education, and fundraising for victims and health centers.

Hosted by the Ladies Wing of the Achimota Golf Club, the tournament was held under ideal weather conditions and saw vibrant golfers with most players donning pink to symbolize solidarity with the cause.

The event was made possible through partnerships with numerous sponsors, including All Star Insurance Brokers (headline sponsor), Lancaster University Ghana, Alfapetro Ghana Ltd, Premier Aesthetic Clinic, Zenith Bank, Nuffield Clinic, Fairway Golf Academy, Addison Bosman Consultants, Ghandour cosmetics, Dominion Christian Academy, Pink for Africa Foundation, Roses and More, Lush Hair and Fine Mineral Water, among others which were all passionate about the essence of the golf tournament.

The five Ghana Lady Professional Golfers, Mercy Werner, Felicity Okyei Gyeabour, Constance Awuni, Grace Delali Yawa Komladzei and Jessica Bearls Tei lent their full support to AGC’s Pink October 2025.

Richard Smith and Romina Alviz won the closest to the pin prize whiles Kofi Akyene and Suzanne Butah grabbed the longest drive prizes while Esther Addison was encouraged with the booby prize of the competition.

In the Ladies Pros category, Mercy Werner bagged 32 points for the trophy. Jan Vogel and Hajia Zenabu Sulemana won the men’s and women’s seniors top prizes at the tournament.

Maame Afua Ayesu and Irene Tumweebaze with the scores of 34, 37 and 38 points respectively took the ladies group C third, second and first prizes while the Princess Nkansah -Boadu, Zimbabwean Makosi Musambasi and Kezayah Afatsawo stepped forward for the first three trophies of the ladies group division.

Philip Ayensu beat Ayoub Ghandour and Michael Owusu Boateng to the men’s main trophy.

In an interview with a section of the media after series of auctions and raffle draws were done at the closing ceremony, the lady captain of the Achimota Golf Club, Kous Louanges Mang on behalf of the organizing committee expressed the gratitude to the various sponsors, golfers, some breast cancer victims for their efforts which contributed to the successful organization of the tournament.

She revealed that proceeds generated from the competition will be donated to the breast cancer unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Achimota Health and some victims.
