A Copa Bolivia quarterfinal between Real Oruro and Blooming on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, turned chaotic after the final whistle as violence erupted between players, staff and match officials.

What began as a tense finish to a 2-2 second-leg draw in Oruro spiraled into one of the most shocking scenes Bolivian football has witnessed in years.

Blooming had secured progression thanks to their 2-1 victory in the first leg, but the match’s end was immediately overshadowed by the scale of the confrontation that followed.

Tempers flared at midfield, and within seconds, both benches had been emptied. Punches were thrown, players grappled on the ground, and club officials waded in, escalating the situation even further.

Referees attempted to restore order but were quickly overwhelmed. Reports from local media indicate that about 17 individuals, including players and staff members from both clubs, were shown red cards in the aftermath.

Police were forced to intervene, ultimately deploying tear gas to break up the melee and clear the pitch.

Videos circulating on social media showed chaotic scenes: bodies tangled, coaching staff charging into skirmishes, and security personnel scrambling to separate combatants.

Several individuals are believed to have suffered injuries from the clash.

Bolivia’s disciplinary authorities have opened a formal investigation, with heavy sanctions expected.
