Gospel musician Celestine Donkor and her husband, Kofi Donkor, have pledged to sponsor the education of two children of DJ Awana, a renowned Ghanaian disc jockey who passed away a few weeks ago.

The couple made this announcement during the one-week observation of DJ Awana’s passing, held in Tema Community 2.

Celestine Donkor and her husband (who is also her manager) explained that this gesture is their way of expressing gratitude for DJ Awana’s support of their music ministry.

One of the children benefiting from the educational scholarship is in Junior High School, while the other is in Senior High School.

DJ Awana, a well-respected figure in Ghana’s disc jockeying scene, passed away on April 6, 2025, after a brief illness.

Although he kept a low profile, his exceptional skills earned him a loyal following and many admirers.

His final funeral rites are scheduled for September 27, 2025.
