A celebrity has been arrested over allegations of attempted rape and sexual assault of a woman in her 20s.
It is understood that the star, in his 50s, was interviewed at a police station in north London this afternoon.
He is accused of attempted rape, exposure and sexual assault by touching in relation to an incident, which is said to have occurred in 2007 in the capital.
He was detained by officers today but has since been released on bail.
An investigation into the claims is continuing.
A Met spokesperson said: ‘A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape, exposure and sexual assault by touching on Tuesday, 10 February.
It is understood that the star, in their 50s, was interviewed at a police station in north London this afternoon
‘He was interviewed by detectives.
‘This arrest relates to a sexual offence, which is alleged to have taken place in 2007 in London against a woman in her 20s.
‘The man was bailed pending further enquiries and the Met’s investigation continues.’
