    Cedi depreciates slightly to sell at GH¢10.60 to a dollar on interbank market

    Cedi depreciates slightly to sell at GH¢10.60 to a dollar on interbank market

    Ghana’s local currency, the cedi, has depreciated against major trading currencies on the interbank market, particularly the US dollar.

    In its daily update, the Bank of Ghana noted that the cedi is trading at a buying price of GH¢10.59 and a selling price of GH¢10.60 to the dollar.

    The British pound is being bought at GH¢14.24 and sold at GH¢14.26 while the euro is trading at a buying price of GH¢12.35 and a selling price of GH¢12.36.

    Checks by GhanaWeb Business on August 11, 2025, at 8:00 AM indicate that the cedi is trading at GH¢11.90 while the pound is selling at GH¢15.80 at some forex bureaus across the country.

    Additionally, the euro is trading at GH¢13.80 on the retail market.

    Meanwhile, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Asiama, has noted that the cedi appreciated by 42% in the first six months of 2025.
