There were many close rounds between the shorter South paw Carroll and the angular Orthodox Murphy. Carroll seemed to find his groove down the home stretch and took it by scores of: 116-112 Murphy and 117-111,116-112 for Carroll by split decision. Carroll improves to 26-3-1, 7 KOs while Murphy loses his first at 16-1, 6 KOs.
