Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has named a 28-man squad for Ghana’s World Cup preparation camp and upcoming international friendly against Wales in Cardiff.

The squad consists of five goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders and seven forwards as preparations intensify ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Among the notable returnees are Baba Abdul Rahman, who makes a comeback after several years away from the national team, while Ernest Nuamah also returns after being absent for nearly a year.

Defender Abdul Mumin has also been included in the squad following his impressive performances at club level this season.

Key players such as Thomas Partey, Kwasi Sibo, Fatawu Issahaku, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Antoine Semenyo, Iñaki Williams, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Jordan Ayew all made the list.

However, there was no place for Mohammed Kudus, who misses out due to injury concerns ahead of the tournament.

The squad is expected to be trimmed down after the Wales friendly, with two players likely to be dropped before Ghana submit their final World Cup squad. Reports suggest the cuts are expected to affect the goalkeeping department.

The Black Stars officially opened camp on Monday, May 25, 2026, and have already begun training sessions at Dragon Park in Cardiff ahead of the friendly encounter against Wales on Tuesday, June 2.

Ghana will use the game as part of their final preparations before heading to North America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.

Below is the full 28-man list:
