A cafe owner has slammed entitled customers for complaining about the prices of drinks as she defends charging $7.50 for a ‘mini’ matcha.

Angela May Bower runs Makers Daily in Cronulla, south Sydney, and said customers needed to ‘cut business owners and staff’ some slack.

‘If you think it’s expensive, you just don’t get it,’ she said.

‘We’re selling 10oz cups, we call them minis, for $7.50 and c***s are in the comments saying that’s daylight robbery.

‘If you think $7.50 is daylight robbery, are you alright? I just don’t get it.’

Ms Bower said customers needed to understand how much it costs to ‘operate a business and turn on the lights every day with staff and products’.

    ‘It’s literally $1,000 a day.’

The cafe, which specialises in matcha, sells drinks and smoothies for around $12-$13.

Ms Bower spoke about how negative reviews about her cafe attract more attention than positive ones.

‘Is being negative the new way to get likes?’ she said.

‘I feel like we live in a very negative society these days and that’s why people love making negative reviews and they always pop off!

‘Every time I see a negative review about my cafe it’s got 9,000 likes and every time I see a good review, it’ got 200 likes – why is that?

‘If you’re just propping out a camera and filming a bad review at that cafe, f**k man, that is dog, I reckon that’s just straight up dog.’

Ms Bower’s rant on TikTok garnered nearly 1,000 comments, with many social media users applauding her for her honesty.

‘I’ve been searching for a GOOD matcha for soo long and this is the best I’ve ever had!’ one commented.

‘Not to mention the marine smoothie was INSANE! Your mini option is also the perfect size and the price is more than fair!

‘People will honestly find anything to complain about.’

Another added: ‘Girl, your attitude has just made me put your cafe on my “must visit” list!

‘You’re so real and authentic. Literally need to say it like it is because consumers are getting so precious.’

Others complained charging $7.50 for a ‘mini’ drink was steep.

‘It’s very expensive for people who are not financially well off, so cut them some slack,’ a woman said.

‘Many Aussies are struggling right now to feed their families, just cater for those who can afford it and that’s it.’

‘$7.50 is crazy though, I’m still paying $5.10 from Maccas,’ a second said.

‘I get it, your overheads are high and you’re in Sydney, profits on 100 cups a day must be $300+.’
