The Buz Stop Boys, a group of young volunteers in Ghana who clean public spaces and promote environmental care, have carried out a clean-up exercise at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of Ghana’s final home game in the World Cup qualifiers.

The exercise took place from Tuesday, October 7 to Thursday, October 9, 2025, targeting areas within the facility such as the washrooms and seating sections, to create a more conducive environment.

Speaking in an interview with TV3, the vice leader of the group, James Sarfo, explained that the initiative was prompted by viral videos circulating on social media that showed the stadium in an unclean state.

“Some weeks ago, we saw a video circulating that the stadium was really, really dirty. And based on what we do, we thought it wise to come and support to help clean the stadium. Normally, we notice that the washrooms are very, very dirty.

“So, we came here on Tuesday and tackled the drainage in front of the building and some surrounding areas. Today, Thursday, we’re working on the washrooms, just to make them very clean and nice for our lovely supporters to enjoy the football in a serene environment,” Sarfo said.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will host Comoros on Sunday, October 12, 2025, for the final game in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
