    Some businesses including boutiques, in Keta municipality of the Volta Region, have expressed surge in sales as Valentine’s Day celebration approaches, with retailers and service providers optimistic about increased revenue.

    Local entrepreneurs have been stocking up on Valentine-themed products, including red dresses, chocolates, and greeting cards, to meet the growing demand.

    Madam Regina Deladem Ametsime, a boutique attendant, at Keta told the Ghana News Agency, that various activities such a premium Valentine’s weekend getaway among others were expected to be unveiled in Keta to offer couples, friends, and solo explorers an unforgettable experience.

    “Many restaurants and hospitality businesses are anticipating a significant boost in sales; we will be offering special packages to promote the celebration,” she said.

    She noted that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would be leveraging the Valentine’s Day celebrations to increase their earnings, while others were also offering discounts and special deals towards the day.

    She noted that graphic designers, bakers, photographers, among others were busily benefiting from the increased demand from the public for Valentine’s Day services while many other businesses had staged their products at vantage areas to catch the attention of the public.

    “It is to our advantage that we have such recreational zones here in Keta that can also attract numerous visitors and citizens to prioritise the communities. We are looking forward to a memorable celebration.”

    She explained that the Keta Lagoon, a major tourist attraction in the region, was expected to draw visitors and boost local businesses while the local artisans would be showcasing and selling their products, including traditional crafts, and clothing, to capitalise on the festive atmosphere.

    Donald Atisey, another resident and business owner, expressed optimism about the economic benefits of Valentine’s Day, with increased in sales and revenue.

    He advised other consumers to take advantage of special deals and promotions offered by businesses.

    As Valentine’s Day approaches, businesses in Keta are gearing up to provide an unforgettable experience for couples and individual lovers alike for a memorable event.

    The GNA also gathered that some event grounds, hotels, restaurants, guest houses, among others have been prepared to host various entertainment shows during the celebration on Saturday, February 14.
