The Leader of the Minority caucus in Parliament, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, has admonished Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Dr Randy Abbey, to solidify his relationship with political figures in the country.

He noted that with Dr Abbey’s rich experience in the media and sports administration and closeness with President John Mahama, he should be handed some opportunities to serve the country.

Speaking in a documentary celebrating Dr Randy Abbey’s contribution to Ghana’s media, Afenyo-Markin applauded Abbey for his service to the nation and wished him the best in his future endeavours.

“What I want to tell you [Randy Abbey] is to build your allies, and you made reference to your relationship with President-elect Mahama so build that friendship. They are your friends who will speak for you in your days of political adversity. So even if the person does not like you, still reach out to him. Don’t give up, talk, engage, and with time you will have a strong army of allies that has really worked.

“I believe that the little I know about you, you are very open-minded. You may have your biases, but I know your human relations are very superb, especially in sports administration for all these years,” he said.
