It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season.

Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…

Real agree £107m deal for Diomande

Real Madrid have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign one-time Liverpool target Yan Diomande on a seven-year contract.

Real are paying a guaranteed fee of £107million for the 19-year-old, with the total deal worth up to £120m.

Yan Diomande – who was a target for Liverpool earlier this summer – has joined Real Madrid

Liverpool had an offer worth £85m rejected earlier in the window while PSG also tried to sign the Ivory Coast international. Diomande scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 appearances last season.

Liverpool are currently working to add PSG pair Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye.

New deal offer for Van de Ven

Tottenham are preparing a new long-term contract for defender Micky van de Ven

The Netherlands centre-back has a deal until 2029. Cristian Romero remains the subject of strong interest from Atletico Madrid and Inter who had a £34.2m fee in place. Arsenal are also understood to be admirers but a sale to them would not be contemplated.

Spurs defender Ashley Phillips is joining Middlesbrough for £7m and the deal could rise to £20m with bonuses. Spurs have also negotiated a 20 per cent sell-on clause and matching rights into the transfer agreement.

    Nestory time at Sporting

Sporting Lisbon have agreed a deal worth around £17m for Watford forward Nestory Irankunda.

Bayern Munich have a 40 per cent sell-on clause for the Australia international and will be due around £7m.

    Diomande in doubt

Ousmane Diomande’s move to Nottingham Forest has hit a major snag with the deal now far from certain.

Forest had been close to agreeing a fee of about £35m with Sporting Lisbon for the centre-back but Daily Mail Sport understands talks have hit the buffers.

Oliver Glasner had made the centre-back his top target – as he did at Crystal Palace last summer, which also proved unsuccessful.

It now remains to be seen if the transfer can be revived in the remaining days of the window.

    Trafford closes on Leeds switch

James Trafford has completed his medical with Leeds ahead of his £40million move from Manchester City.

The England goalkeeper is set to move for a club record £40m plus £5m in add-ons.

Man City are closing on agreement with Marseille for goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.

The 34-year-old will cost around £2.9million and will replace Trafford.

The deal will allow Lucas Perri to move from Leeds to Torino. The Italians are waiting for Perri to recover from a small injury which kept him out of Leeds’ last two pre-season games before finalising the move.

    Dykes snubs Charlton for Millwall

Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes has agreed a one-year deal with Millwall.

The 30-year-old has completed a medical and is finalising his move.

Dykes rejected a longer term offer from Charlton Athletic, where he spent the second half of last season, as he looks to help Millwall earn promotion.

Villa and Toon keep tabs on defender

Racing Santander defender Jorge Salinas is attracting attention from Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

The 19-year-old can play left back and centre back and has also been watched by Barcelona and Manchester United scouts.

Some of the clubs view him as a player for the future while others are considering a bid this month.

    Bruno heads to the capital

Bruno Guimaraes is understood to be in London to finalise his £75million move to Arsenal.

The 28-year-old left Newcastle’s pre-season camp on Wednesday after a fee of £75m was agreed with Arsenal. Newcastle are continuing to work on a replacement.

Gunners keep tabs on the next Kvaratskhelia

Arsenal scouts were at Larne’s Europa League qualifier against Iberia 1999 on Tuesday.

They were understood to be running the rule over the Georgian side’s attacking midfielder Andria Bartishvili.

The exciting 17-year-old has been on Arsenal’s radar for a number of months and has been compared in style to compatriot Khvicha Kvaratskhelia at Paris St Germain.

Indeed, the French side are also understood to be among his admirers as well as clubs in Italy.

Bartishvili is on loan at Iberia from Kolkheti 1913, however, he is expected to be sold in the coming days as interest intensifies.

    Hammers confirm Veltman

West Ham have confirmed the signing of former Brighton defender Joel Veltman.

The Dutch defender has signed a one-year contract with an option for a second year.

‘I’m delighted to have signed, and I can’t wait to get started,’ said Veltman. ‘The project here really excites me.’

‘I spoke to Nuno [Espírito Santo], as well as my family and my agent, and everything added up. We know that West Ham need to be in the Premier League, and for sure that is our goal for the season.

‘I think I bring my experience, my winning mentality and togetherness. I bring leadership – I’ve been the captain at Ajax, and I enjoy talking to my teammates and using my experience to help the squad.

‘I’m just so excited to give everything, to meet my new teammates and to see all the supporters too.’

West Ham are also prepared to break the Championship transfer record of £17.5m to sign Troy Parrott from AZ Alkmaar. Talks have opened between the clubs.

Talks for Spurs winger Manor Solomon are currently off over bonus payments.
