Brøndby IF’s rising star, Noah Nartey, has confirmed that he was approached by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over a potential international switch to represent Ghana.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who has Ghanaian heritage but was born and raised in Denmark, remains eligible to play for either nation.

However, Nartey says his focus remains firmly on representing Denmark — the country he has featured for across multiple youth levels.

“My focus is on Denmark. It’s the country I’ve represented all my life,” Nartey stated, downplaying speculation about an imminent switch.

Nartey has been one of Brøndby IF’s standout performers this season, earning plaudits for his composure, passing range, and creativity in midfield.

His consistent form has not only made him a key player for his club but also a regular in Denmark’s U21 national team, where he continues to impress.

The GFA’s approach comes amid Ghana’s broader efforts to strengthen the Black Stars ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers, with officials actively reaching out to eligible foreign-born players of Ghanaian descent.

While Nartey’s potential inclusion could provide a significant boost to Ghana’s midfield depth, the player’s current stance suggests that his international allegiance remains with Denmark — at least for now.

Football analysts say his decision will be closely monitored by both nations, as the talented midfielder continues his rapid rise in European football.
