Brittany Higgins has taken to social media to celebrate her husband David Sharaz’s new job just two weeks after the birth of their first child.

Marking his sixth role in five years, Sharaz, 33, has taken the post of director at independent PR agency, Third Hemisphere where he will be charged with boosting the agency’s political media engagement.

Higgins, 30, shared an article announcing the news to her Instagram on Wednesday with the caption: ‘Beyond proud of this wonderful human.’

‘Cannot think of a better team of people for you to be working alongside – a values-driven firm of formidable professionals,’ the new mum wrote.

‘So happy for you and relieved the news is finally out.’

Sharaz formerly worked as a journalist for SBS, WIN and Sky News before serving as a Senior Media Advisor in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.

He then spent four months working as the ACT Business Manager for media monitoring company Streem before joining Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) in 2021.

At Third Hemisphere, he will assist the Sydney-based tech, finance and climate communications firm in setting up a Melbourne presence.

Third Hemisphere founder & CEO, Hannah Moreno said Sharaz brings ‘extensive experience in media and political journalism to the team’.

‘As a multiple-times rape survivor and long-standing advocate for women’s rights myself – and a recent parent of a baby as well – this hire aligns with our founding values and vision,’ she said in a statement.

Sharaz’s LinkedIn page has not been updated since he finished at SCA in February, 2023.

At the time, his ex-wife Alexandra Craig appeared to take a swipe at Sharaz after he announced his departure from that job – his fifth role in three years.

Sharaz resigned just weeks after Higgins was reported to have received a $2.4million payout after settling a suit against the federal government.

Higgins said he held onto about $1.9million after fees and taxes.

In announcing his departure, Sharaz simply updated his Twitter work bio to read: ‘AWAY’.

Soon after, Ms Craig shared a video of her walking in high heel shoes with the caption: ‘AWAY… Until tomorrow morning because I continue to be gainfully employed’.

Sharaz met Ms Craig in Canberra where she worked as a media adviser for the Treasury department.

They got married in 2018 at an extravagant ceremony at the fashionable Yarralumla Brickworks in Canberra, where tables bore the names of Labor politicians instead of numbers.

The couple separated in 2020 and Sharaz began  dating Higgins, who was then working as a political staffer.

An SCA spokesperson confirmed with Daily Mail Australia at the time that Sharaz had ‘resigned’ his post.

In a cryptic Instagram post, Higgins urged her followers to ‘read between the lines’.

‘No one walks away from employment without a job to walk into,’ she wrote.

‘David has been nothing but a supportive partner at an incredibly difficult time.’

Sharaz was pictured alongside Ms Higgins during each day of the ACT Supreme Court rape trial in October 2022.

The pair got married in the Gold Coast last June and soon after relocated to a French chateau they had purchased following the windfall 2022 settlement.

By September, the couple had listed the property for sale to cover the costs of a defamation lawsuit brought by Higgins’ ex-boss Liberal Senator Linda Reynolds.

In January, the couple lowered the listing price for their French chateau to €367,500 (AUD $620,000) from an initial listing price of €420,000 (AUD $722,000).

They were pictured on Tuesday pushing their newborn boy, whose name remains unknown, in a pram on the streets of Brisbane.
