A British man has died three weeks after a motorbike crash left him in a coma.

Tiger Duggan, 23, had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Bangkok after travelling in the country for his birthday celebrations.

He had been working his ‘dream job’ for a gold mining company in Perth, Western Australia, before going travelling with a friend in January.

While in Thailand, he was knocked from his bike while overtaking a car and suffered severe head injuries.

For three weeks, he had been in hospital in a critical condition, with his family paying soaring medical bills for his care.

More than £200,000 has been raised in an online fundraiser to support his family.

His mother, Lisa Duggan, a neonatal nurse from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, flew out to Bangkok alongside her husband, Kieron, and Tiger’s brother River, to be at his bedside.

His family wrote in a tribute: ‘Our beautiful soft skinned, beautiful long eye lashed boy with a cheeky, charming infectious smile that touched everyone’s hearts left this dimension early this morning in my arms.’

Tiger’s family said they had endured a ‘living nightmare’ for the past 19 days.

In an update posted to the GoFundMe page on Thursday, they wrote: ‘Our son and brother lived life to the max.

‘We want to thank everyone that has supported us in Tiger’s journey from prayers, messages and donations.

‘Without those donations Tiger would not have reached his final destination where following his passing this morning in a selfless act has given 3 maybe 4 other people a second chance at life by donating his organs.

‘We have had 19 days of living a nightmare, please now respect our peace and privacy.

    ‘God bless you all.

‘Goodnight our beautiful boy Tiger Duggan.’

Tiger was initially treated at a hospital in Koh Samui, before being transported to a hospital in Bangkok.

After nine days, his relatives had spent more than £120,000 on hospital bills and an internal flight for his transfer.

Lisa previously said Tiger’s travel company refused to pay out to cover the cost of the bills and said the UK Government offered no practical help.

She said the Foreign Office’s only contact has been to send a general email with links to online advice pages.

Lisa shared an emotional video to the fundraising page on February 7, where she broke down in tears by her son’s bedside.

Lisa said she was ‘hugely grateful’ for the public support they have received.
