Black Stars striker, Brandon Thomas-Asante continued his blistering form with a first-half brace as Coventry City thrashed Sheffield Wednesday 5-0 at Hillsborough to move top of the Championship table.

The Ghanaian forward struck twice inside the opening 30 minutes, setting the tone for a dominant display from Frank Lampard’s side.

Haji Wright, Ellis Simms, and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto completed the 5-0 thrashing as Coventry extended their unbeaten start to nine league matches.

Thomas-Asante nearly completed a hat-trick after the restart, his header forcing a fine save from goalkeeper Ethan Horvath.

The Ghanaian, who now has five goals and three assists in nine league games, has quickly become Coventry’s talisman in their push for promotion.

For Thomas-Asante, it was another performance that underlined his growing reputation as one of the Championship’s most complete forwards.
