Carlos “Burrito” Garcia (22-0, 15 KOs) is set to face fellow Mexican Emmanuel “Renegade” Robles (19-8-1, 6 KOs) for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Super Welterweight title on October 23.
Streamed world-wide by PROBOX TV, the intriguing clash between undefeated up-and-comer and accomplished veteran, will take place at the Arena Tecate in Tijuana, the home-town of Garcia.
24-year-old Garcia turned professional in March of 2021, and has swept aside all opposition with relative ease, winning and defending the WBC Fecombox title along the way.
In southpaw Emmanuel Robles (38), a former WBC and WBA regional champion, he will be up against what will likely be his biggest test to date.
A pro since 2010, Robles will be coming to win, and has more experience and accolades than anyone Garcia has so far shared a ring with.
In 2014, when Garcia was not yet a teenager, Robles beat Cuba´s former Olympic Bronze medallist, and future WBA world champion, Yordenis Ugas to claim WBC Latino championship honours.
Twelve years later, this past March, he defeated 11-0 Roberto Torres to win the WBA Fedelatin Super Welterweight title, proving he is still a quality operator who is more than happy to derail a young prospect.
“Burrito” Garcia vs. “Renegade” Robles for the vacant UBO Inter-Continental Super Welterweight title will be promoted by Promociones Leon in association with TM Boxing Promotions and Sampson Boxing.
