Lithuanian welterweight Eimantas Stanionis (16-1) is back in action September 26 in Kaunas after a year out and meets South African Kaine Fourie (13-2-2) in a non-title fight scheduled for ten rounds.

This is only Stanionis´ second fight since losing the WBA title to Jaron Ennis April 12, 2025. He turned pro in 2017 but had been a top class amateur boxer for many years before that. He won the WBA title in 2022 and became the first Lithuanian boxer to do so.

Fourie was stopped twice last year at lightweight but blamed it on problems making the weight and has since moved up to welterweight and both his fights in his new weight division this has ended in tko wins. He has however never been in with a fighter with Stanionis’ credentials.
