Mexican superstars Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz and Jesus “Mono” Ramos Jr. continued fight week in San Diego Wednesday night as they were featured as honored guests for the annual Baja Cup showdown between San Diego FC and Club Tijuana just days before their respective showdowns taking place at Pechanga Arena this Saturday, September 19 streaming live on DAZN and presented by Premier Boxing Champions.
Cruz and Ramos participated in fan meet and greets prior to the matchup, and met with Club Tijuana and Mexican National Team star Gilberto Mora. In addition, Cruz conducted the opening coin flip between the two local rivals.
“It was great to be here with the fans and feel everyone’s love,” said Cruz. “San Diego has a special connection with Mexico, and I’m happy to be part of this celebration just days before my fight.”
“It was an honor to be here and experience the energy of the fans, especially with San Diego and Tijuana coming together,” said Ramos. “It feels great to be part of a celebration that brings our Mexican community together.”
Cruz will defend his Interim WBC Super Lightweight Title against Puerto Rican contender Nestor Bravo in the evening’s main event, while Ramos will put his Interim WBC Middleweight Title on the line against unbeaten mandatory challenger Meiirim Nursultanov.
