Magnesi Boxing Team won the purse bid today in Rome with a bid of €10,010 ($11,348.31) for Jonathan “Mambo” Kogasso’s mandatory defense of the EBU Silver title against Croatian Marko Calic (17-2).
When and where the fight will be staged has not yet been announced.
Kogasso (20-0) won the title on May 23 by beating Ukrainian Ramazan Muslimov and has since won the WBC International bridgerweight title by beating Venezuelan Kevin Cristofer Ramirez, but is now back at cruiserweight.
Calic is an excellent boxer but has been stopped in both of his losses, first against Englishman Joshua Buatsi and then against Venezuelan Albert Ramirez.
