Former professional heavyweight boxer David Jaco, who faced such legendary fighters including Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Buster Douglas and Razor Ruddock (among others), is teaming with filmmaker and author Evan Jacobs on a new screenplay inspired by his life and boxing career.
The screenplay, titled SPONTANEOUS PALOOKA, tells the story of Jaco’s journey through the ranks of professional boxing all because he wanted to create a better life for his two young sons, Aaron and Adam.
To introduce the project, Jaco and Jacobs have released a short promotional documentary featuring Jaco telling his story in his own words.

Jacobs previously co-wrote the boxing film KNOCKOUT, starring “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and wrote and directed BOXING TIME. Both films are available to stream on Tubi. He is also the author of the forthcoming young adult fiction series THE 12 ROUNDS and a contributor to Fightnews.
“David Jaco has an incredible story,” said Jacobs. “I saw him fight as a 15 year old boy and I was astonished at how much punishment he could take. He literally never stopped getting up! The names of the fighters he faced are fascinating, but the story behind those fights—the core of which was his determination to provide for his family—is what makes SPONTANEOUS PALOOKA a universal story worth telling.”
