    Exams and other academic activities have been suspended at Bowen University located in Ogun State, Nigeria, due to the sudden passing of a male student.

    The student had passed away on campus grounds under suspicious circumstances, prompting an investigation by the school officials and other appropriate authorities.

    Details of the incident were revealed in a letter released to the public by the school authorities on Thursday, January 23, 2024. The letter was issued by the school’s registrar B. T. Adetona.

    In the letter, it was revealed that at about 8:20 pm on Wednesday a member of the staff and some students, while headed towards one of the University’s hostels, had encountered the victim running towards the staff quarter.

    The male student whose identity has yet to be revealed suddenly collapsed, hitting his head against the pavement. Inspecting his body, it was discovered that before the fall the student had sustained various injuries.

    There was a major wound in his abdominal region and additional bruises around his neck which was discovered by medical personnel after he was taken to the hospital. Various staff members around the area where the students were found were questioned, but no one had seen or heard anything.

    Other details were revealed about the case in the letter, which is shown below;
