The Central Regional giant, Mfantsipim School, popularly known as Botwe, has won the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), adding to their already impressive record of three previous trophies in the prestigious academic competition since its inception.
Botwe, the three-time champions and defending champions, previously won the competition in 1999, 2014 and 2024.
They secured their fourth title with an impressive 56 points at the end of the fifth round.
This year’s grand finale featured Mfantsipim School, St Augustine’s College (Augusco) and Opoku Ware School (OWASS) from the Ashanti Region.
The Botwe Boys faced stiff competition from Augusco, a two-time champion who lifted the trophy in 2007 and 2019 and Opoku Ware School, also a two-time champion with victories in 1997 and 2002.

During the riddles round (Round 5), the Botwe Boys answered three riddles correctly, sealing their victory and defending their title in grand style.

Round 1: Botwe – 20 – Augusco – 17 – Opoku Ware – 17
Round 2: Augusco – 27 – Botwe – 24 – Opoku Ware – 17
Round 3: Botwe – 30 – Augusco – 29 – Opoku Ware – 19
Round 4: Botwe – 42 – Augusco – 34 – Opoku Ware – 29
Round 5: Botwe – 56 – Augusco – 42 – Opoku Ware – 29
