Afetsi Awoonor, the Managing Director of Bulk Energy Storage and Transportation Limited Company (BOST), has lauded Kalibi Volleyball Club for securing a bronze medal for Ghana at the 2025 Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Zone 3 Championship held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Kalibi Volleyball Club represented Ghana in the prestigious tournament, which brought together 12 men’s clubs and 8 women’s clubs from five African countries.

Their performance earned them third place on the podium—a feat formally acknowledged when the team presented the bronze medal to BOST management on June 17, 2025.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Awoonor commended the team’s dedication and resilience. However, he challenged the BOST-sponsored team to aim higher, especially with Ghana set to host the next edition of the championship in 2026.

“You have done well, but I would like to present the medal back to the team for you to know that you have a task ahead of you. Anytime you look at this medal, you should be reminded of your responsibility to strive harder for gold.”

Also present at the event was Bernard Mornah, a former flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and founder of Kalibi Volleyball Club.

He expressed deep appreciation to BOST for their unwavering support and shared his hopes for an even better performance in 2026.

“The ladies managed to win all their group stage games. We faced language challenges, especially with French communication as the tournament progressed, but despite that, the team fought hard and brought home the bronze.”

“We hope to win multiple medals next year when Ghana hosts the championship.”
