The Borteyman Sports Complex has been officially confirmed as the venue for the 2026 Africa Armwrestling Championship scheduled to take place in Accra on May 1 and 2, 2026.
The decision was reached following a working visit by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), which inspected the facility to determine its readiness to host the highly anticipated continental competition.
During the visit, members of the LOC conducted a comprehensive assessment of key areas within the complex, including the competition arena and designated warm-up zones. The inspection aimed to ensure that the venue meets the required standards to host one of Africa’s biggest armwrestling events and to guarantee a smooth and successful championship.
Officials expressed confidence in the readiness of the Borteyman Sports Complex, noting that the modern facility is well equipped to host the prestigious event.
The 2026 Africa Armwrestling Championship is expected to attract top athletes from across the continent and will also serve as a qualification event for the 2027 African Games.
