Assault and stalking charges against Bondi hero Ahmed Al Ahmed are set to be dropped.

Ahmed shot to fame after wrestling a firearm from one of the gunmen during the mass shooting at Bondi Beach on December 14.

The 44-year-old was accused of stalking and assaulting his father at a property in Bankstown, southwest Sydney, on March 9.

He was charged in June and pleaded not guilty later that month.

Police are expected to withdraw the charges at Bankstown Local Court.
