Eight players began training at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday to kick off preparations for the crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

The players included Mohammed Kudus, Gideon Mensah, Elisha Owusu, Osman Bukari, Joseph Wollacott, Emmanuel Antwi, Razak Simpson and Isaac Afful.

They were joined later by the other members of the squad as the team intensify preparation for the double-header to define the Stars fate for the continental championship.

The team’s preparation appeared to have suffered a setback following the withdrawal of eight players for various reasons.

They include, Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Jonas Adjetey, Tariq Lamptey, Jerome Opoku, Alexander Djiku, Ibrahim Osman and Joseph Painstil.

But swiftly, the Otto Addo led technical team extended invitations to six players to join the team for the qualifiers which kick starts with group leaders, Angola on Friday.

They players are Osman Bukari (Austin FC), Ransford Yeboah Koningsdorffer (Hamburger SV), Forson Amankwah (Norwich City), Terry Yegbe (IF Elfsborg), Ebenezer Annan (OFK Beograd) and Kingsley Schindler (Samsunspor).

The team will leave Ghana today after yesterday’s training session at the Accra Sports Stadium held in closed-doors.
