Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo is expected to field a strong lineup for the game against Chad in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on September 4, 2025.

With most of the players in top form for their respective clubs, the selection will be tough.

Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare is expected to start in goal after recording two clean sheets in the previous games.

In defense, Jerome Opoku and Mohammed Salisu will play in the center-back positions to solidify the backline.

FC Auxerre’s Gideon Mensah and Fiorentina’s Tariq Lamptey will occupy the full-back positions.

Villarreal’s Thomas Partey and Elisha Owusu, who plays for Ligue 1 side Auxerre, will play in the double pivot and central defensive areas to support the attack and shield the defense.

LA Galaxy’s Joseph Paintsil, in-form Premier League players Kudus Mohammed and Antoine Semenyo will form the front three behind the striker.

Captain Jordan Ayew is expected to start as the lone striker in attack, leading the team’s attacking prowess.

Otto Addo is expected to play a 4-2-3-1 formation as he looks to play an attacking game and secure an emphatic win to boast his team’s chances of qualification.

The likes of Inaki Williams, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Ibrahim Osman, Christopher Bonsu Bonsu, Caleb Yirenkyi, and others are expected to start from the bench.

Below is the predicted starting XI:

Benjamin Asare, Tariq Lamptey, Mohammed Salisu, Jerome Opoku, Gideon Mensah, Thomas Partey, Elisha Owusu, Joseph Paintsil, Kudus Mohammed, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew.

A win for Ghana will increase their points tally to 18, giving them an upper hand over their opponents in the qualification.
