President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku has urged Ghanaians to rally behind the Black Stars in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers despite the team’s inability to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco.

According to Kurt Okraku who was addressing members of the football association at the 31st Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram, it is very regrettable that the Black Stars will not be in Morocco in 2025.

The GFA boss however stressed that the Black Stars are on course to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada and the United States of America.

“Though we regretfully missed out on AFCON 2025, the Black Stars remain on track for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification in USA, Canada and Mexico,” Kurt Okraku said as monitored by GhanaWeb Sports.

The Black Stars are currently on top of their group in the FIFA World Cup qualification series with 15 points after match day 6.

The team will play two additional games in the September window against Chad on September 4 before welcoming Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8, 2025.
