The Management Committee of Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, has paid a courtesy visit to the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, to seek spiritual guidance ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

The delegation, led by Medeama SC President Moses Armah, included former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah and GFA Executive Council member Samuel Aboabire. The visit forms part of preparations toward Ghana’s World Cup campaign this summer.

During the meeting, the committee appealed for prayers and national support as the Black Stars prepare to face Panama, England and Croatia in the group stage.

Moses Armah thanked the Chief Imam for his continuous support and stressed the importance of unity and faith ahead of the tournament.

In response, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu assured the team of nationwide prayers and announced that Friday’s Jumu’ah prayers across the country would be dedicated to the Black Stars as they prepare for the global competition.
