Gospel musician Grace Ashly has expressed disappointment that the Black Stars team has not been supportive of her music career despite the services she has provided over the years.

She mentioned that despite composing songs for the Black Stars during various tournaments, such as the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the team officials have failed to support her.

Ashly recounted how she visited the former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, multiple times, yet did not receive any assistance.

In an interview with GhOne TV, Ashly blamed the GFA for not providing the necessary support for her to continue creating songs for the Black Stars as they had done in the past.

“I feel like the Black Stars do not value my contributions. If they did, they would support me to create more. The GFA cannot claim ignorance of my songwriting for the Black Stars because I approached Nyantakyi on three or four occasions,” she stated.

In 2006, Ghanaian gospel musician Grace Ashly had a popular song titled ‘Ghana Black Stars,’ which was well-received by fans and players alike as it boosted morale.

Despite her past success, Ashly has not composed a song for the Black Stars recently, attributing it to a lack of support.
