The Ghana senior national team, the Black Stars, have reportedly been hit by a robbery incident at their training camp in Vienna, Austria.
A top official of the team confirmed the development to Sporty FM, revealing that the incident occurred at the team’s base during their stay in the Austrian capital. According to the official, unidentified individuals broke into the camp and made away with valuables belonging to members of the team.
Items reported stolen include an amount of $2,250 in cash and two Rolex wristwatches. The circumstances surrounding the alleged robbery remain unclear, and it is not immediately known when the incident took place.
Team officials are yet to release a formal statement on the matter, but internal discussions are believed to be ongoing as authorities in Vienna are expected to investigate the case.
The incident comes at a time when the Black Stars are preparing for upcoming international assignments, raising concerns over security at the team’s camp.
