Veteran football administrator Wilfred Osei Palmer has voiced his frustration with the current state of Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, attributing their struggles to a lack of blessings from some key personalities in Ghana football.

Speaking on Asempa FM, the President of Tema Youth criticized the way he and others who have significantly contributed to the team’s development have been treated, suggesting that such injustices may be undermining the team’s performance and overall success.

“Sometimes I wonder why people say the Black Stars are suffering, but the truth is that you cannot treat people like this and expect the senior national team to prosper,” he lamented.

Palmer, who has served the national team in various capacities over the years, expressed deep disappointment over how his contributions have been overlooked and undervalued.

“The team has no blessings. This is the national team that I have served and supported, and this is how I am being treated? I am sorry, but I am deeply hurt,” he said.

The Black Stars have faced significant challenges in recent years, including disappointing performances at major tournaments and their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
