A member of the Ghana U-17 national team management committee, Wonder Victor Kutor, has donated GH¢5,000 in his personal capacity to the Black Starlets following their qualification to the 2026 African U-17 Cup of Nations, set to take place in Morocco.

In addition to the cash donation, Kutor also presented a football and quantities of bottled water to the team as part of his gesture.

Speaking during a brief ceremony held at Pilmar hotel near UPSA upon the team’s return from Côte d’Ivoire, where they finished as first runners-up in the WAFU Zone B tournament, Kutor described the team’s performance as remarkable.

He highlighted the significance of their qualification, pointing out that this achievement breaks a qualification drought that has affected the team since 2017.

“This is my personal contribution to support a team that has defied the odds and restored pride to the nation at the juvenile level.

“Ghana has struggled in recent years at this level, despite our proud history, including being the first African nation to win the U-17 World Cup in Italy in 1991,” he noted.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the team, Captain Joseph Narbi expressed gratitude to Wonder Kutor, stating that the team remains focused on achieving even greater success for the country.

“This donation is a great source of motivation. It reminds us that it is an honour to wear the national colours,” he said.

Also present at the event was the Chairman of the U-17 Management Committee, Frederick Acheampong, who commended the gesture and reiterated the committee’s commitment to supporting the team on their journey to Morocco.
