Ghana U-20 defender Aaron Essel says the Black Satellites are fully focused on qualifying for the World Cup and not distracted by the attention of scouts ahead of their quarter-final clash with Egypt.

“There’s talk of scouts and agents watching, but that’s not our focus,” Essel said at the pre-match press briefing. “We’re here in Egypt on a mission — to qualify for the World Cup and make Ghana proud.”

The defender, a leader at the back for the Black Satellites, also dismissed suggestions that facing the host nation adds pressure. “This is football. We’ve trained hard, and the mood in camp is calm and focused,” he stated. “Everyone knows what’s at stake.”

Essel further expressed the team’s commitment to their national duty. “We’re not just playing for ourselves; we’re playing for Ghana. We want to leave a legacy.”

Ghana take on Egypt in what promises to be one of the most closely watched quarter-finals of the tournament. With a World Cup ticket up for grabs, the Black Satellites are determined to rise and go all the way.
